Bellevue’s Future: For the Glory of God
For more than a century, God has used Bellevue Baptist Church to change lives through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“I count it an honor and a privilege to serve as Bellevue’s pastor,” said Bro. Steve. “We have a wonderful staff that assists me in giving overall leadership and vision to this great church. God has also blessed us with faithful and capable lay leaders who love the Lord, their church, and their pastor. We are genuinely excited about the years ahead, and we’re praying for revival in our day. We are confident that the Lord has called each of us to Bellevue ‘for such a time as this.’
“My prayer for Bellevue is that we will be upward-focused in prayer, outward-focused in evangelism, and forward-focused in vision. God’s promises in Scripture are great. God’s power through His Holy Spirit is limitless and still available. We believe that whatever God has done in the past in Scripture, He can and will still do. We don’t believe in a ‘day of miracles;’ we believe in a ‘God of miracles’ who is alive, well, and active today!
“Our church is not a fortress in which we hide, nor is it a country club for ‘people just like us.’ Instead, Bellevue is a hospital with open doors for hurting sinners who desire God’s grace and help. It is also a school for people who yearn to be taught and trained from God’s Word. And Bellevue is also a spiritual army camp for soldiers of the cross who long to fight the good fight of faith in spiritual warfare.
“Bellevue is not only a ‘place’ of ministry; it’s also a ‘base’ of ministry. From this base we intend to walk through every open door God sets before us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world. As one of our deacons is fond of saying to me, ‘Pastor, it’s all about Jesus!’ To that, I say a hearty ‘Amen!’ Bellevue Baptist Church is not about a preacher, a building, or any person. Bellevue is about Jesus Christ!”
