America Needs Godly Families

America Needs Godly FamiliesIf America is ever going to rise to greatness again, we need the foundation of godly families. Paul summarized what God expects from Christian families in Colossians 3:18-21. Husbands need to love their wives unconditionally like Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it. They need to do what the Bible says and love their wives as their own bodies and as themselves. Wives need to willingly submit to their husbands as unto the Lord and respect their husbands unconditionally (Ephesians 5:33). These spouses need to pray together, play together, and stay together!

Children in America desperately need godly parents. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way that he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Parents should not provoke their children to anger but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Scripture does encourage spanking, but only when children are being rebellious. Proverbs 22:15 says, “Foolishness is bound up in the child, but the rod of discipline will remove it far from him.” Children must learn to respect the God-ordained authority of their parents and submit to their authority as unto the Lord. Our country needs godly families who fear the Lord and obey His Word.
